R and RR
A single r is one quick tap of the tongue tip behind the top teeth, like the tt in American “butter”. A double rr is a rolled trill of a few taps.
The English r, made with the tongue pulled back, sounds foreign straight away, and a single r rolled too long turns caro into carro.
