Usage notes

  • Glielo combines gli/le/loro + lo. In modern Italian, gli often replaces le and loro in speech.
  • Place glielo before a conjugated verb: glielo dico. Attach it to infinitives, gerunds, and imperatives: dirglielo, dicendoglielo, daglielo.
  • Do not say lo gli. In double object pronouns, indirect comes first and changes form: gli + lo becomes glielo.
