Meaning
naturally, of course, sure
- naturally, by nature
In a sentence
Naturalmente puoi venire con noi stasera.
Of course you can come with us tonight.
Lei parla naturalmente davanti alla telecamera.
She speaks naturally in front of the camera.
Naturalmente non ho dimenticato il tuo compleanno.
Of course I didn't forget your birthday.
Usage notes
- Use naturalmente for both “of course” and “naturally”; certo sounds more direct, ovviamente more emphatic or argumentative.
- As a sentence adverb, it often goes at the start: Naturalmente, verrò. Mid-sentence placement is also common in more formal writing.
- Don’t overuse it for every “of course” in conversation; sì, certo or certo may sound more natural in casual replies.
