Usage notes

  • Use riunire for bringing people or things together; for a meeting itself, riunire is less common than riunirsi or convocare.
  • Riunire is transitive: riunire qualcuno/qualcosa. For 'meet up' or 'gather together' intransitively, use riunirsi.
  • With the reflexive riunirsi in compound tenses, use essere: ci siamo riuniti. Past participle agrees with the subject.
