Notas de uso
- As an adverb, attorno often appears with a: attorno a me, attorno al tavolo. Bare attorno is less common in everyday speech.
- For approximate numbers, use intorno a or attorno a: attorno alle cinque. Around by itself usually does not express approximation.
- Compared with intorno, attorno can feel slightly more physical or spatial. In many contexts they are interchangeable.
