Notas de uso
- Use sussurrare for a deliberate whisper to someone; mormorare often suggests low, unclear, or half-audible speech.
- For complaining under your breath, mormorare fits better than lamentarsi, which sounds more explicit and open.
- It usually takes avere in compound tenses: ha mormorato. Reflexive mormorarsi is uncommon and sounds literary.
