- In fixed-do solfège, Italians say do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si; English speakers may expect "so," but Italian uses sol.
- For the pitch letter, Italian often says sol rather than the English-style letter name G in music teaching.
- Before another note name, articles are usually omitted in note sequences: do re mi fa sol.
