- For newspapers and media, use la stampa; for the machine, more often la stampante. Stampa alone can sound broad or abstract.
- For a single printed copy, prefer una stampa or una copia stampata; il print is English-influenced and nonstandard in careful Italian.
- In art and museums, stampa often means print/engraving. For everyday office printing, speakers more often say stampa di documenti or impressione only in technical contexts.
