Notas de uso
- For physical jumping, saltare is much more common. Balzare sounds literary, vivid, or sudden.
- In figurative use, it often appears as balzare agli occhi: something is immediately obvious. Don't translate it word-for-word.
- As an intransitive motion verb, it normally takes essere in compound tenses: è balzato, sono balzati.
