Usage notes
- Irregular verb: benedico, benedici, benedice; past participle benedetto. Don't form it like a regular -ire verb.
- Usually takes avere in compound tenses: ha benedetto la casa. Passive and adjective use benedetto/benedetta with agreement.
- Mostly religious or formal. For a general positive approval, prefer approvare rather than benedire.
- present: benedico, benedici, benedice, benediciamo, benedite, benedicono
- past participle benedetto
