- For a person getting better, use intransitive guarire: È guarito. For treating someone, use transitive guarire/curare: Il medico l'ha guarito.
- With illnesses, Italians often say guarire da + disease: guarire dall'influenza. Don't use per to mean 'from' here.
- In compound tenses, intransitive guarire usually takes essere: sono guarito/a. Agree the past participle with the subject.
