- Use 'interno' for 'inside' of buildings or spaces, not for objects like boxes (use 'dentro').
- In medicine, 'interno' means 'intern' (doctor), but 'stagista' is more common for general internships.
- For 'apartment', 'appartamento' is more common in northern Italy; 'interno' is standard in central/southern regions.

- Use interno after the noun in many fixed labels: volo interno, mercato interno, uso interno. Before the noun is possible but often more literary.
- For body parts or rooms, interno often contrasts with esterno: orecchio interno, cortile interno. Within means interno a only in formal contexts.
- Don't confuse interno with dentro: interno is an adjective or noun; dentro is usually an adverb/preposition.
