- Use rigido for rules, schedules, posture, or materials. For a stubborn person, testardo or inflessibile is often more natural.
- With climate or weather, prefer rigido: un inverno rigido. Freddo alone just means cold, not especially severe.
- For strict people, rigido works, but severo often sounds more idiomatic for parenting, teaching, or discipline.
