Usage notes
- Very literary or archaic in modern Italian; in everyday speech, use dunque, quindi, allora, or perciò instead.
- Often introduces a conclusion or resumes an argument, especially in older writing, sermons, and formal rhetoric.
- Do not confuse it with dunque: meanings overlap, but adunque sounds much older and can feel unnatural in conversation.
