Usage notes
- For bank/post office service points, sportello is more natural than banco. Banco is the counter itself; sportello is the service window/desk.
- In offices and public services, allo sportello means “at the service desk/window,” not literally “at the little door.”
- For a company office in another city, use filiale more often than sportello. Sportello can sound more like a customer-service branch point.
