Notas de uso
- Often more formal than allungare or prolungare. Use estendere for areas, rights, deadlines, validity, or abstract scope.
- Common pattern: estendere qualcosa a qualcuno/qualcosa = extend something to someone/something. Example: estendere l'invito a tutti.
- For body parts, Italian usually prefers stendere: stendere il braccio, not estendere il braccio in everyday speech.
- past participle esteso
